The couple’s kids — Willow, 13, and Jameson, 8 — visited Hart in the hospital, he revealed in the same post

After sustaining an injury during practice, Carey Hart issued a formal apology to his wife Pink.

On Saturday, May 17, the former professional motocross competitor — who has been dabbling in the sport again recently, per his social media — revealed in an Instagram post that he experienced a pretty serious injury while practicing two days earlier on May 15. And, true to form, he delivered the news with his signature sense of humor.

“Welp, I ran out of talent 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣,” Hart, 49, kicked off the post. “I had a pretty nasty get off, practicing Thursday morning. Landed off a jump, bars knifed, and took the bar to the gut while going over the bars.”

“As I understand it, severed my small intestine from my colon,” he continued in the post, which included several shots of him in the hospital, showing off his injury.

In one, Hart posed for a mirror selfie with several bandages on his torso, and in another, he revealed what’s underneath them — more than 20 stitches, mostly along one large gash in the middle of his abdomen.

Despite the injury’s intimidating appearance, however, Hart said he is currently doing “fine” and “will recover from this” — in part due to the support he received from Pink.

“Just a big thank you to @feedbigb for talking me into going to the ER, and a huge thanks to @pink,” Hart wrote of his wife of nearly two decades. “As always does in these situations w/ me, she steps up and takes charge at the hospital [sic].”

“Sorry to put you through this, yet again 🤣,” he added, implying that this isn’t the first time the singer has helped him after he got stitched up.

The motocross racer also thanked the couple’s two children — daughter Willow, 13, and son Jameson, 8 — for visiting him in the hospital on Saturday, May 17, and included a snapshot of the duo sitting side by side on a couch, visitor badges visible on their shirts.

“Thanks Willz and Jamo for coming to visit today,” he wrote. “Gonna rest up this week, and start the healing process.”

Hart wrapped his post by issuing one more apology, this time to the people whose messages he ignored in the wake of his practice injury.

“Sorry to everyone I ghosted over the last couple days. There was a good reason for it 🤣🤣,” he wrote, adding that after “a few days off,” he will “catch up with everyone next week.”

Hart recently hinted at his return to pro motocross racing on social media. On May 7, he shared several snaps of himself driving on a dirt path in full gear on Instagram and wrote, “Bicep is finally decent enough to turn some laps!!!! Time to get back to the Moro grind, and maybe catch a race or two this year 🤘🏼🤘🏼.”

Earlier this year, he and Pink — who tied the knot in January 2006 — celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary. “19 years ago on a beach in Costa Rica we both took a chance we weren’t sure we even believed in,” Pink wrote in an anniversary tribute. “I’m so glad we did.”

“I’ve been with you longer than I haven’t,” the star continued in part. “You’ve been my one constant. You have loved me, hated me and loved me again. I love our story no matter what gets written. It is gritty and sweet.”

In a tribute of his own, Hart wrote that “for over 20 years,” the couple has “traveled the world, made a family, and created amazing memories & life together. Not bad for a couple kids who weren’t expected to amount to anything. You are like a fine wine, and I love you.”
