– Why is it important for people to know that Katie’s loved? –

Sometimes I get these really nasty comments.

You know, like I should have aborted her or I should have hung myself.

I’ve gotten some really nasty ones and through it all.

The only thing that I’ve ever wanted anyone to know is: this child is loved just as much as any other rest of my kids.

– When somebody watches this interview and meets Katie for the first time, what do you hope they think? –

That they like it?

Not really.

Every day you can see someone new.

That she has feelings that she understands when someone’s being rude And just because she might not look the way some people think she should look? or Doesn’t mean that she doesn’t know what’s going on around her? –
