The green snake was discovered floating in a Thai marsh and its identity remains a mystery.
The strange 2 foot long creature was discovered on February 26 in Sakhon Nakhon province. Its body was frilly and resembled fur.
According to Newsflare.com, “Some locals said the furry reptile could be a puff-faced water snake that had moss growing on its body from waiting so long in the swamp to catch its prey in the still, shallow water and rocky crevices.”
Almost all snakes have scales like reptiles, cold-blooded animals and regulate body temperature externally. These scales trap the moisture in arid climates and reduce friction.
Although, there have been several snake species found that are mostly scaleless. Could the green fury snake be one of them?
It was taken home by local Tu, 49, after he noticed it moving slowly in the dirty water near his home while he was walking.
“I have never seen a snake that looked like this before. My family and I thought it would be useful to let people find out what it is and research about it,” Tu’s niece Waraporn Panyasarn, 30, said.
So could this be a previously undiscovered species, a deliberate hoax, or is something else going on?
