Decoding the Enigma: The Purpose Behind the Intriguing Steps of Ollantaytambo

Although Peru has many archaeological sites, none of them are as mysterious and perplexing as the steps of Ollantaytambo. Experts believe that these steps were built by the Incas at 2,792 meters above the sea level. It was discovered that the Incan civilization was unable to build this structure by hand, and that the technology necessary to make it was not available at the time

Ollantaytambo was supposedly the royal estate of Emperor Pachacuti during the Inca Empire’s reign, and it was actually made as a result of conquest. The Inca used it during the Spanish conquest as a stronghold to Manco Inca Yupanqui who was the leader of Inca resistance. It offered enough strategical defense to allow the Incan civilization win.

A lot of speculations arose upon the discovery of these steps, some have stated that this is clear proof of alien beings since there was no way they’d make this themselves at the time while others have gone as far as to state that these steps were not made for humans to walk on, but for other creatures that supposedly led the human race in ancient times. Although there are many books that dispute these theories, most notably those dealing with the Incan conquests and others, theories will still come up when you research such huge discoveries.
