Captured in stunning photographs by Martin Farrell, 54, and his wife Kathy, 58, from Bristol, during their Kicheche safari camp tour, the scene showcased nature’s raw intensity.

The mother sprang into action as the leopard stealthily stalked and pounced on the defenseless six-month-old calf, delivering a precise horned headbutt to the leopard’s upper body.

In a swift turn, the startled leopard went from the attacker to pursued, hastily retreating with the enraged female wildebeest.

Martin Farrell described the encounter as unprecedented, even in over 5,000 game drives, highlighting the rarity of witnessing such a dramatic intervention.

Kathy Farrell, a recently retired pharmacist, expressed astonishment at the spectacle, noting the impeccable timing of their guide, Benjamin Kaluena, who positioned them perfectly for the unfolding drama.
