A wandering pit bull named Rush was a little nervous when he arrived at the SISCA Pet Adoption Center.
The shelter staff did everything to put him at ease, including giving him a lot of hugs, treats and a comfortable bed.
And it was this bed that ended up making Rush famous. One day, a volunteer from the shelter came by and saw Rush make bed!
Rush started making his bed every day.
And so, a volunteer from the shelter decided to shoot a video of Rush’s unique behavior. They shot about a minute of Rush sequences carefully moving his cover.
SICSA put the video on YouTube. To their surprise, it quickly went viral, receiving more than 2.5 million views. SICSA posted a nice photo on its Facebook page celebrating its famous puppy on the Internet.h-a-n-h
The shelter received tons of requests from news agencies who wanted to present Rush.
The shelter used this platform to explain why pit bulls are such good pets.
“There are many negative stereotypes about the American pit bull.h-a-n-h
If we have been able to highlight Rush’s pretty cuddly points, then we can help people look beyond the pit bull label,” Nora Vondrell, Executive Director of SICSA, Ohio, told ABC News.h-a-n-h
With all the attention, it wasn’t long before the perfect adopters came to see Rush.
In a video, the husband and wife explained that they had lost their dog earlier that year.h-a-n-h
They didn’t know if they were ready for a new dog, but the husband then saw Rush’s story on the news and his wife saw it online.
