A mother’s atonement as she embraces hope and fresh life by saving a pregnant puppy from the verge of death.

Rebecca Lynch and her husband took a trip to Savannah. While heading back from their Georgia vacation, they decided to take a quick break on the way. While many people who go on vacation like to bring back souvenirs, Rebecca was looking for something more significant to remember her trip by.

The state has many pet shelters where animals can rest, so the girl chose to help one and provide it with a home. She had enough space in her car to transport a four-legged companion. Before taking the leap, Rebecca researched about a terrier named Lizzie who was fortunate enough to escape euthanasia. Lizzie was surrendered to the shelter by her previous owners who abandoned her while she was pregnant and had a broken leg. Rebecca knew that Lizzie’s life would be at risk if she stayed at the shelter.

Rebecca came to the conclusion that this tiny animal had been through a lot and deserved a caring family and a proper home. So she made it her mission to find Lizzie the perfect owners. Eventually, Lizzie was able to leave the Georgia sanctuary and ride happily in the backseat of the Lynch family’s car, resting on a cozy cushion that had been specially prepared for her.

During the initial hours of the car ride, the dog was visibly uneasy but also seemed to trust that the humans would not cause it any harm. However, an unexpected event occurred while on the road – Lizzie went into labor. It’s possible that the dog had always been meant to become a mother, or maybe it just sensed that these individuals would provide care not only for itself, but also for its newborn puppies.

Rebecca took on the role of not only a pet owner but also a midwife, providing aid and support to her dog and its newborn puppies. During the trip to the Warhorse Clinic, Lizzie gave birth to three puppies with the help of Rebecca. The remaining puppies were born during the event, under the care of veterinarians. The last two puppies came into the world on the journey itself.

Lizzie and her adorable little ones are doing great! However, they had to stay at the veterinary clinic for quite a while so that the doctors could give them a thorough check-up. Once they were finished, the family went to their new home where the Lynches had made sure everything was prepared for the comfort of the mama dog and her pups. As soon as the puppies are old enough and strong enough, the girl will make sure they find loving homes with responsible owners.
